Job Purpose

The Agency Development Manager is responsible for leading and managing the regional agency force to achieve the Company’s targets in productivity, profitability, and quality. This role partners closely with agency leaders to drive sales performance, people development, customer service excellence, and strong compliance culture across the agency network.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Sales & Agency Development

  • Drive and monitor agency strategic action plans and performance against key KPIs.

  • Provide guidance and support to agency members in addressing business challenges and operational issues.

  • Coach and counsel agency members on compliance with Company, industry, and regulatory guidelines, ensuring consistent adherence.

  • Motivate and engage agency members to strengthen morale and sustain performance momentum.

  • Promote continuous recruitment of new agents to support agency growth.

  • Support Agency Leaders in identifying and developing high‑potential agents for future leadership roles.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Participate in core customer service programmes to stay updated on products, systems, and processes.

  • Collaborate closely with branch teams to identify root causes and trends in customer service issues.

  • Support the implementation of effective solutions to improve customer experience and service quality.

People Development

  • Implement structured programmes to support new agents’ onboarding, performance, and retention.

  • Ensure training facilities, rooms, and equipment within the region are well maintained and fit for purpose.

  • Deliver or facilitate quality training and ongoing support to enhance agency capability, skills, and performance.

Communication & Organizational Development

  • Facilitate structured platforms (e.g. agency meetings) to communicate key messages and gather feedback from agency members.

  • Support and participate in company launches, campaigns, and agency events.

  • Communicate and promote company, regional, and agency initiatives, incentives, and contests.

  • Organise engagement activities to encourage collaboration, teamwork, and agency culture building.

  • Prepare and submit weekly plans and monthly performance reports.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in business development, sales, or marketing.

  • Experience in agency development or insurance distribution will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Service‑oriented mindset with a positive and professional attitude.

  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
