Responsibilities / Tasks

For our offices in Alcobendas (Madrid), we are looking for a Regional Category Manager Professional Services DACH, EE, NCE.

Main duties:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine the category strategy for Professional Services and related indirect spend areas, ensuring alignment with overall procurement and business objectives.
  • Execute the category strategy through high‑quality tenders, competitive negotiations, supplier evaluation, and structured supplier relationship management.
  • Partner closely with procurement managers and key stakeholders across functions to communicate, align, and operationalize procurement strategies effectively.
  • Identify, quantify, and deliver cost‑saving opportunities, ensuring achievement of annual savings targets while maintaining service quality and risk‑mitigated supply.
  • Build and maintain an optimal portfolio of global, regional, and local suppliers, ensuring the right balance of competition, innovation, capability, and resilience.
  • Manage total category spend with a holistic, end‑to‑end supply chain perspective to achieve best‑in‑class cost structures, value creation, and process efficiency.
  • Drive internationalization of procurement activities, promoting harmonization, standardization, and cross‑country sourcing synergies.
  • Lead continuous improvement by optimizing procurement processes, tools, policies, KPIs, and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure full compliance with procurement policies, processes, contractual standards, and digital tools (e.g., Ariba, S2P systems).
  • Analyze market trends, benchmarking data, and supplier performance to proactively adjust category strategies.
  • Manage risks, including contractual, operational, and supply‑market risks, with clear mitigation plans.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as sustainability programs, supplier innovation, and digital transformation within procurement.

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Residence in Madrid is a must.
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of procurement experience, ideally in Indirect Procurement (e.g., Professional Services such as Marketing, Business & Technical Services, Financial Services, Legal Services, Consulting Services).
  • Demonstrated category‑specific market and industry knowledge with the ability to translate insights into sourcing strategies.
  • Strong cultural awareness and experience working with international teams and suppliers.
  • Profound expertise in international contract management, including negotiation of complex commercial agreements.
  • Proven experience operating in complex matrix as well as centralized organizational structures.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of leading cross‑functional initiatives end‑to‑end.
  • Significant negotiation experience across global supplier markets, including handling multi‑million‑euro agreements.
  • Proficiency with procurement systems; SAP Ariba and Source‑to‑Pay (S2P) tools are considered a strong advantage.
  • Additional experience with data analytics, TCO models, and supplier risk management is a plus.

Other Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluent English (C1 level); German is optional but beneficial (B2 level).
  • Ability to lead and influence international and culturally diverse teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to network, build trust, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep understanding of global business practices and international supply markets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset, accountability, and resilience — taking responsibility for both successes and setbacks.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex procurement topics clearly.
