The Regional Brokerage Leader (RBL) serves as a strategic partner between regional teams and national resources, ensuring consistent placement strategy execution, effective carrier relationships, and efficient use of wholesaler channels. The RPL leads with a "Fewer and Stronger" carrier engagement philosophy and plays a critical role in overseeing placement decisions, driving carrier growth, and managing carrier and wholesaler performance within their designated region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Understanding, Communication & Execution
- Promote and execute the "Fewer and Stronger" placement strategy across the region in a proactive and retroactive manner to ensure execution.
- Serve as the conduit between National Placement Leadership and regional teams, ensuring alignment and consistency.
2. Carrier Growth & Performance
- Monitor and support a 10% growth target with core carrier partners across the region.
- Partner with National Placement to identify and develop Business Develop opportunities with Partner markets
- Partner with National Placement, Producers and carrier partners to identify growth opportunities and track progress.
3. Wholesaler & Direct Placement Management
- Proactively drive transition from Indirect (wholesale) to Direct carrier placements where possible utilizing data and analytics reporting
- Retroactively review results to track and report progress and execution.
- Review and approve requests to retain placements with wholesalers for renewals.
- Vet and approve movement of business to approved wholesalers; ensure alignment with strategy.
4. Wholesaler & Carrier Vetting
- Evaluate and monitor new wholesaler and carrier requests before final approval by the RL and National Brokerage.
- Ensure new relationships meet strategic, compliance, and performance criteria.
5. Carrier Panel Oversight
- Provide oversight and accountability for the use and performance of panel carriers within the region.
- Ensure adherence to carrier engagement strategies and panel guidelines.
6. Carrier Relationships (Middle Market Focus)
- Maintain and nurture strong relationships with Middle Market carrier partners.
- Effective interactions/communications with Placement Leader; cooperating purposefully and providing support, as needed, to achieve the business goals
- Serve as the regional point of contact for strategic carrier issues, escalations, and collaboration.
7. Placement Economics
- Review and assess fee-to-premium ratios and placement structure.
- Make recommendations and gain final approval from RL for adjustments.
8. National Resource Integration
- Effective interactions/communications with National Placement; cooperating purposefully and providing support, as needed, to achieve the business goals
- Act as a regional facilitator for Property and Casualty National Resource initiatives.
- Implement and align regional efforts with national strategies and directives.
9. Communication & Information Cascade
- Cascade critical market intelligence and updates to regional teams, including:
- Carrier partner changes (e.g., AIG adjustments)
- Market trends and emerging issues
- Strategic insights and performance data
- Work closely with Operations and National Placement to ensure associate participation and awareness of intellectual capital.
10. Data & Reporting
- Utilize National Placement reporting tools, carrier reports and internal reporting (Power BI,..) tools to guide placement decisions.
- Leverage data to identify trends, measure outcomes, and inform strategy.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of insurance industry experience, preferably in placement, underwriting, or carrier relationship management
- Strong understanding of carrier and wholesaler dynamics in the Middle Market
- Deep technical knowledge of Property & Casualty business, including loss sensitive, alternative risk transfer, self-insured retentions, and captive programs
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive results across teams and geographies
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical and decision-making abilities
Preferred Skills:
- College degree preferred
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
- Collaborative leadership style and ability to work across matrixed teams
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive results across teams and geographies
Pay Range:
$140,000 - $165,000 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for this role.
