The remote Regional Bid Manager is responsible for managing all Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB), Ground Power Unit, and Pre-Conditioned Air project opportunities within an assigned Northeast U.S. and Canadian territory. This role functions as the primary customer-facing leader during the bid phase and acts as the front-end project manager throughout the proposal development process.
This position is remote and requires residence within the assigned region, preferably Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, or Michigan, near a major airport to support travel requirements. The Regional Bid Manager interfaces directly with airports, airlines, and general contractors, representing JetAire and Jetpower product lines while ensuring complete, accurate, and competitive bid submissions.
Travel is expected to be approximately 30% and may include industry trade shows, customer meetings, and occasional visits to Oshkosh facilities, particularly during the first year.
YOUR IMPACT

Manage all RFQ and RFP opportunities within assigned territory from receipt through submission
Review and interpret complex bid documents, drawings, technical specifications, and contractual requirements
Ensure all required bid documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with customer requirements
Coordinate cross-functionally with Engineering, Pricing, Risk Assessment, and Bids & Proposals teams to develop competitive, technically sound proposals
Review pricing sheets and validate scope, margins, and commercial terms prior to submission
Write and/or review customer-facing cover letters and supporting documentation
Manage multiple concurrent bid opportunities while maintaining strict adherence to deadlines
Serve as the primary customer interface during the bid phase, including clarification meetings and addendum responses
Develop and maintain strong relationships with airports, airlines, and general contractors within the territory
Identify appropriate upsell opportunities related to technology enhancements, system upgrades, and product options
Represent Oshkosh at industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events
Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of JetAire and Jetpower product lines, including performance characteristics and configuration options
Maintain competitive intelligence and understand market positioning within the assigned region
Support forecasting and sales planning activities
Collaborate in cross-functional initiatives related to product development and market strategy
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree with five (5) or more years of sales experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience reviewing and responding to RFQs and RFPs
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information effectively to customers and internal stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet firm deadlines
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30%
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Passenger Boarding Bridges or airport ground support equipment
Construction project management experience
Experience working with airports, airlines, or general contractors
Salesforce.com or similar CRM experience
Knowledge of competitive market landscape within aviation infrastructure

Pay Range:
$82,900.00 - $134,300.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
