Job Title: Referral Specialist
Department: Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation- Ridgeway
Location: 2655 Ridgeway Avenue, Suite 320, Rochester, NY 14626
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: Minimum 2+ shifts 9am-5:30pm. Other shifts 8am-4:30pm.
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for scheduling, obtaining authorizations and pre-certifications as well as verify insurance eligibility/benefits and detailing all patient and third-party interaction in the patient's EMR. Promotes and provides customer satisfaction and appropriateness of care for all assigned patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet all patients, whether in person or via telephone with a cheerful and helpful attitude
Verify insurance for eligibility and benefits
Obtain authorization as required
Update referrals and patient EMR appropriately
Schedule NP and follow up appointments as indicated
Performs other responsibilities as necessary to ensure efficiency within the practice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training: High school diploma or GED certificate required, AAS in related field most helpful.
Experience/Skills/Abilities: Proficiency with computer software applications including Excel and Word. Ability to maneuver through computer programs and general comfort with technology. Medical terminology preferred. Orthopedic terminology highly preferred. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the necessary hours to get the job done.
