What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the company’s strategic response to recycling regulations (e.g., Simpler Recycling, ETS, DRS), identifying commercial opportunities and mitigating risks while driving the development of new material sorting, recovery, and recycling facilities.

  • Develop and present compelling business cases for sorting and recycling plants—including financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning—to secure Investment Committee approval, alongside negotiating and finalising commercial agreements with material offtakers.

  • Oversee the concept and detailed design of sorting and recycling  facilities, collaborating with technology suppliers and process designers to evaluate technical proposals, negotiate performance guarantees, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Drive end-to-end project delivery, from conception through to operational implementation, ensuring modernisation of existing facilities, efficiency improvements, and adherence to budgets and timelines.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., pEPR sampling) and industry standards, while evaluating and implementing new technologies to optimise asset performance and operational efficiency.

  • Manage key stakeholder relationships—including suppliers, offtakers, and regulators—to support project success and align commercial strategies with technical and operational goals.



 

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in developing and delivering infrastructure projects within recycling, waste management, or processing facilities, including financial modelling, business case development, and stakeholder management to secure investment and commercial agreements.

  • Good technical and regulatory knowledge of recycling systems (e.g., Simpler Recycling, ETS, DRS), material sorting/recovery technologies, and compliance requirements (e.g., pEPR), with a track record of translating regulations into strategic business opportunities.

  • Good operational and leadership skills, including overseeing facility modernisation, efficiency improvements, and technology adoption, with the ability to drive projects from concept through to operational implementation.
