Role Overview

The Materials Recovery & Recycling Operator will work closely with all departments to ensure a timely response in removing and reducing segregated post-consumer material and packaging streams from localised areas around site whilst maintaining site cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record all production movements of material or packaging and ensure paperwork is processed on time.
  • Prevent cross-contamination by understanding products and their material compositions.
  • Process scrap or defective product promptly to provide good quality feed to the Compounding department.
  • Participate in the development and setting up of procedures.
  • Complete daily activities and all mandatory training requirements.
  • Complete dynamic risk assessments and follow health, safety and PPE guidelines.
  • Maintain appropriate storage of waste streams and ensure high standards of housekeeping.
  • Undertake equipment inspection, cleaning, and maintenance according to instructions.
  • Maintain accurate process data, records and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including development of efficient site layouts and adopting lean techniques such as 6S.

Skills and Experience

  • FLT Licence
  • Able to accurately complete paperwork
  • Organised and able to manage own workload
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems
  • Willing and able to work shifts
