Recycling Operative - Mobile Plant

Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 + Bonus Incentives
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

At Heidelberg Materials, we’re leading the way in sustainable construction and waste recycling. We’re looking for a Recycling Operative to join our high-performing team and support the safe, efficient operation of our aggregate recycling depot.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work with mobile plant machinery, sort and process materials, and help us meet environmental and productivity targets.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate, inspect, and maintain site plant and machinery to ensure quality material production

  • Sort and segregate waste materials for recycling, including load and quality inspections

  • Conduct daily checks and preventative maintenance on plant and stockpiles

  • Report defects and support general site maintenance

  • Complete safety documentation including near miss and Take One reports

  • Follow all site health, safety, and environmental policies

What We’re Looking For

  • FEL (loading shovel) tickets

  • Excavator (360) ticket

  • recycling experience

  • crushing/screening experience

  • Weighbridge experience

  • Experience operating plant machinery (or willingness to train)

  • A strong commitment to safety and environmental standards

  • A proactive, team-oriented approach

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
