Recycling Operative - Mobile Plant

Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 + Bonus Incentives
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
At Heidelberg Materials, we’re leading the way in sustainable construction and waste recycling. We’re looking for a Recycling Operative to join our high-performing team and support the safe, efficient operation of our aggregate recycling depot.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work with mobile plant machinery, sort and process materials, and help us meet environmental and productivity targets.
What You’ll Be Doing
Operate, inspect, and maintain site plant and machinery to ensure quality material production
Sort and segregate waste materials for recycling, including load and quality inspections
Conduct daily checks and preventative maintenance on plant and stockpiles
Report defects and support general site maintenance
Complete safety documentation including near miss and Take One reports
Follow all site health, safety, and environmental policies
What We’re Looking For
FEL (loading shovel) tickets
Excavator (360) ticket
recycling experience
crushing/screening experience
Weighbridge experience
Experience operating plant machinery (or willingness to train)
A strong commitment to safety and environmental standards
A proactive, team-oriented approach
Good communication and problem-solving skills
