PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Join the team at the Utah Pool Center and help create a welcoming, organized, and fun environment for our community. The Recreation Facility Assistant serves as the friendly face guests see first, greeting visitors, answering questions, and helping people get the most out of programs and facilities. Daily work includes assisting with registrations and memberships, supporting classes and events, handling front desk operations, and keeping the facility running smoothly. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills help ensure every guest has a positive experience. This role works closely with staff, patrons, and community members in a fast-paced and team-oriented setting. Opportunities to assist with events, programs, and facility operations keep each day varied and engaging. A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed will go a long way. Bonus points if you enjoy helping people and do not mind occasionally being the hero who knows where the extra pool noodles are.
Salary to be commensurate with experience
The hiring range for this position is $21.43 - $26.79/hourly

WORKING CONDITIONS
Primarily sedentary physical work requiring the ability to lift a maximum of 20 pounds; occasional lifting, carrying, walking, and standing; frequent hand/eye coordination to operate a computer terminal and office equipment; the vision for reading, recording, and interpreting information; frequent speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens.

The city of Aurora will implement furlough days (unpaid days off) for most employees in 2026. The scheduled furlough dates are January 16, April 10, July 2, and December 24.
