Job Summary: About the position: This position will be a Recreation Assistant (Skills Development) assigned to Arts & Crafts Center at Minot AFB, ND. This is a REGULAR FULL-TIME (RFT) position. 35-40 hours are guaranteed each week. Employees are eligible to use the fitness center, golf course, bowling center, clubs, and swimming pool.

Major Duties:

  • Assists in the economic and efficient operation of the Skills Development Center. Assists assigned personnel in all areas of the Skills Development Program. Operates a variety of equipment in the assigned area. Responsible for operating the cash register, collects money, makes change, and issues receipts. At the end of each shift, closes out the register, completes required paperwork or reports and submits the entire package to the manager. Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment and funds assigned. Uses expertise in the area of skills development to answer customers' questions and complaints; as needed, directs more serious complaints to the manager. Assist customers with special orders. Maintains a clean, neat and safe work area. Actively participates in the recruitment and development of assigned staff members. Supervises assigned personnel. Assigns and reviews subordinates work and provides instruction and guidance as required. Establishes performance standards and evaluates employee performance. Prepared requests and justification for awards, reassignments and promotions. Applies Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principals and requirements to all personnel management actions. Must have knowledge of funds handling procedures. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. May work uncommon work schedule, including weekends.
