Record to Report Global Process Owner Analyst
As the Record to Report Global Process Owner Analyst, you will play an essential role in optimizing end-to-end process design within the R2R workstream. This remarkable opportunity allows you to drive efficiency, improve productivity, and ensure detailed collaboration across our key finance functions. You will work alongside extraordinary professionals and bring your analytical skills to successfully complete process transformation initiatives that align with Thermo Fisher Scientific's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
System Accounting
- Knowledge leader of group reporting tools – HFM, FDM, Smartview, Cognos, GLA
- Key contact for IT system improvement projects, including user acceptance testing
- Support master data management and system user access requirements
- Perform data quality checks and ensure alignment across SAP, Oracle, and other reporting platforms
Process Analysis
- Support the end-to-end R2R process taxonomy, contributing to standardization and best practices globally.
- Assist in the global deployment and adoption of a standardized R2R process across Shared Service Centers, minimizing customization where possible.
Strategic Collaboration
- Collaborate with Accounting Operations, Group/Division Controllers, Compliance, Internal Audit, PPI, Automation, and IT to strengthen process operations.
Compliance & Controls
- Help establish and maintain a strong accounting control environment within GBS Shared Services Operations.
- Actively participate in the Efficiency Governance Program, attending weekly workstream meetings with Operations, PPI, Automation, and IT teams.
Training & Development
- Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure personnel are well-trained on policies, procedures, and systems.
Technology Enablement
- Support process design and future improvements of enabling technology, engaging with business and technology partners to drive standardization and optimization.
Continuous Improvement
- Assess and articulate business requirements, analyze design options, and identify opportunities for process simplification and standardization.
Process Oversight & Performance
- Support process documentation.
- Support process stabilization.
- Assist in identifying and addressing inefficiencies or gaps impacting operational efficiency.
- Review critical metrics monthly, track root causes of service deficiencies, and support remediation efforts.
Innovation & Improvement
- Assist in initiatives that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and overall process performance.
- Support efforts to refine and optimize R2R workflows.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Engage the appropriate collaborators to meet business needs efficiently while staying aligned with interpersonal goals.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of dynamic experience in finance or accounting, with 1-3 years in a Shared Services structure.
- A proactive analyst with strong ability to multitask and collaborate.
- Strong business insight, capable of supporting strategic decisions with a broad perspective.
- Ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail, understanding the upstream and downstream impacts of financial processes.
- Experience collaborating with key technology collaborators and external vendors for technology implementations.
- Proven success in supporting complex, cross-functional projects.
- Ability to inspire change, influence teams, and maintain motivation across departments.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and engagement skills for working with senior management and business partners.
- Business insight to successfully align Finance objectives with the broader goals of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Location & Travel Requirements:
- This position does not require relocation; however, travel may be required ~10%
