Reconciliations Consultant - 6mth Fixed Term Contract

The Reconciliations Consultant is a specialist role within the Operations team, responsible for supporting the definition, delivery, and launch of new products. The role ensures that banking, cash movements, and reconciliation processes are designed, implemented, and embedded correctly and efficiently prior to go‑live.

Working closely with the change and project teams, the Reconciliations Consultant will bring deep operational and banking expertise to new product initiatives. They will define and document end‑to‑end reconciliation processes, ensure system readiness (including TLM), and enable a smooth transition into business‑as‑usual by training and supporting the run teams.

This role is critical in ensuring new products are operationally robust, well‑controlled, and compliant from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the definition, delivery, and launch of new products from an operational and reconciliations perspective.
  • Work closely with the change and project teams to ensure banking, cash flows, and reconciliation requirements are fully understood and correctly implemented.
  • Design, define, and document end‑to‑end reconciliation processes for new products, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate controls.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of Business Process Maps (BPMs) covering reconciliation and associated operational activities.
  • Ensure reconciliations are set up correctly within relevant systems, including TLM, and aligned to agreed operating models.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and reconciliation risks associated with new product launches.
  • Support testing activities, including reconciliation validation and defect resolution, prior to go‑live.
  • Train and upskill run teams to enable a smooth handover into business‑as‑usual operations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for reconciliations, banking, and cash management during change initiatives.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across Operations, Change, Technology, Finance, and external partners.
  • Provide clear, high‑quality written documentation and communications to support operational readiness.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience in reconciliations within a financial services or regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of operational banking and cash management processes.
  • Hands‑on experience using TLM (or equivalent reconciliation systems).
  • Demonstrable experience defining and documenting reconciliation processes and controls.
  • Experience working alongside change or project teams to support product or process launches.
  • Experience training or transitioning work to operational (run) teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting new product launches within operations.
  • Familiarity with operational risk, controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience working in complex, multi‑system operating environments.
  • Knowledge of life, pensions, or investment operations.
