About this opportunity

We are seeking a visionary Real Estate Technology Lead, to shape the future of how our organisation works. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a multi-year workplace technology strategy and roadmap that aligns with business priorities and supports future ways of working. You will ensure that our technology investments deliver measurable value, enhance colleague experience, and enable collaboration at scale.

This is a strategic leadership role that combines technology foresight, behavioural insight, and organisational impact. Champion workplace effectiveness by ensuring digital tools are not only implemented but embedded into everyday work practices, driving productivity and engagement.

You will lead the shaping of the future of work by setting the strategic vision for workplace technologies and digital platforms. In this role, you will define and deliver a clear direction for how technology underpins collaboration, productivity, and colleague experience across the organisation. Ensuring that every solution aligns with organisational goals, supports hybrid and flexible working models, and drives measurable business value.

Your remit will include developing scalable, future-ready technology strategies that anticipate evolving needs and embed principles of sustainability, accessibility, and resilience. Champion innovation by scanning the horizon for market trends, AI-driven capabilities, and digital workplace advancements, translating these into actionable roadmaps and investment cases.

Beyond strategy, you'll develop a culture of continuous improvement and digital confidence, ensuring that workplace technologies are not only implemented but fully adopted and optimised. By using data, insights, and colleague feedback, you'll find opportunities to enhance workplace effectiveness, streamline processes, and create seamless, intuitive experiences.

Day to day, you will:

  • Develop and maintain a multi-year workplace technology strategy and roadmap  (e.g., Microsoft 365, Copilot, Condeco, Omnia), aligned with business priorities and future ways of working.

  • Use internal data and insights (e.g. colleague feedback, usage analytics, service performance) to identify problems, opportunities, and priorities. Developing compelling workplace technology propositions that meet colleague needs and drive adoption.

  • Lead horizon scanning to track market trends, vendor innovations, and peer benchmarks to identify emerging technologies and trends.

  • Translate strategic goals into actionable initiatives, investment cases, and delivery plans. Including the evaluation pilots and proofs of concept to inform strategic decisions.

  • Use data and feedback to measure user impact, success factors and cost/benefits, to identify improvements, and inform future investment.

  • Collaborate with People & Places, IT, Cyber, Sourcing, Service Design and external partners to ensure cohesive user-centric scalable delivery. Ensuring governance, compliance, and sustainability are embedded in all technology decisions and that the roadmap reflects sustainability, accessibility, and security principles.

  • Represent workplace technology in governance forums, steering groups, and transformation programmes, communicating strategy and roadmap clearly across all levels of the organisation.
