JOB TITLE:          Real Estate & Housing Business Origination Director

SALARY:              Competitive package

LOCATIONS:     Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and London

HOURS:               Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

Does this sound interesting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Business Origination Director to join our highly successful Commercial Real Estate team, to build and grow a new portfolio providing outstanding support for businesses within the Commercial Real Estate sector.

You'll use your network and connections to win new clients and build a portfolio of commercial client relationships within the Real Estate sector - delivering a great client experience, whilst identifying opportunities to grow income, balance sheet & market share. This is a great opportunity to build your own portfolio, then nurture and deepen the relationships over time.

Working in partnership with the Client Relationship Team, you'll build powerful internal & external networks to bring the whole bank to the client. Most of your time will be out building and leveraging your networks to win new clients, supporting Real Estate businesses, prospects and introducers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for growing income, balance sheet and client numbers, whilst    proactively managing any associated risks.
  • Building and then Managing a portfolio of client relationships with a focus on the Real Estate sector.
  • Identifying client needs and developing client strategies to meet those needs, leveraging product, coverage and support teams where relevant - and then implementing appropriate client solutions.
  • Undertaking lending assessments, and confidently presenting proposals to Credit partners for support.
  • Ensuring the balance between risk and reward is effectively managed ensuring that all lending and contingent liabilities meet the Banks asset quality and policy requirements.
  • To be seen as the “go to” real estate banker in their geographic area of responsibility. Maintaining a high profile with external influencers and the local business community to achieve the Bank’s stated aim of being the best bank for clients.
  • Building excellent internal relationships to foster an effective partnership with colleagues in our support functions, including Client Relationship Team.
  • Positively promoting the Bank’s image and working closely with Product Partners and others to develop new business opportunities.
  • Ensuring activities comply with internal and external polices (including credit), asset quality, standards, reporting, legal, statutory and/or regulatory requirements.

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum of 3 years specialist credit and real estate sector knowledge along with a track record delivering excellent client experiences
  • Prior experience of building your own portfolio of clients and originating new to bank opportunities in the real estate sector, winning new clients, growing a business and delivering results
  • Highly proficient at building and maintaining positive relationships with external professionals
  • Confident dealing with lending transactions up to £20m
  • Can do attitude and lots of energy
  • Proactive approach to getting things done
