ABOUT THE TEAM 
Anduril is fielding the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to tackle the extremely challenging industry demands of seabed exploration. Anduril has brought to the market a unique, ultra-long-range, full-ocean-depth platform, and a completely refreshed maritime vehicle and flexible manufacturing architecture that scales from "large" to "extra-large" vehicle sizes. Today, Anduril is executing on multi-million-dollar contracts while simultaneously performing Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) AUV operations.

As our Maritime team continues to quickly grow, we are looking for motivated candidates that are inspired to work within an extremely resourceful and innovative team that is passionate about subsea robotics for the defense industry. ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking an R&D Supervisor to join our manufacturing team at Anduril. Here you will work on cutting-edge technology aimed at advancing the state-of-the-possible. The R&D Supervisor will manage a team of highly talented technicians to produce Autonomous Underwater Vehicles(AUV’s) for strategic military and commercial customers. This is a highly dynamic role that requires both frontline technical and people management skills.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Prepare daily work schedules, track work progress, update project critical path schedules, and advise leadership of needed adjustments to work activities
  • Manage technician staff in a heavy R&D environment in conjunction with design and manufacturing engineering teams
  • Meet critical program product development milestones related to advanced AUV production
  • Schedule production, operations planning, and engineering support to eliminate obstacles and deliver product on time
  • Coordinate support from other internal resources such as inspection, engineering, and supply chain as needed to meet program deliverables
  • Provide daily visibility, weekly status, and monthly reviews on schedule performance
  • Set priorities and direct daily operations to include timely issuing and completion of work orders to the Manufacturing floor
  • Ensure all technicians are following safety procedures and standard work tasks
  • Be an active participant in 5S and continuous improvement activities
  • Ability to work on the line and support new operator training as required
  • Build a positive and collaborative team culture that promotes product knowledge, skills development, and X-training
  • Show up every day with a high level of urgency and enthusiasm to get the job done
  • Generate daily pass downs for engineering and operations team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years experience in production-oriented or electro-mechanical technician fields with at least 3+ years in a leadership or supervisor role in a R&D environment
  • Passion for employee development and enjoy the process of training and developing both new hires and veteran production staff
  • Experience working with ERP and MES systems
  • Can interpret technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, building plans, equipment specs, electrical schematics, etc.)
  • Extremely reliable, organized and detail-oriented with excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Demonstrated history of solid problem solving skills and decision-making ability
  • Experience being hands-on and have proven skills in both process and equipment troubleshooting
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (engineering, business, or applied science.)
  • Forklift and 3A Hoisting certification
  • Experience in sub-sea robotics or AUV industries
  • Experience with Oracle (ERP), Teamcenter (PLM), Odoo (WMS)
US Salary Range
$86,000$114,000 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
