The world leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott's Diabetes Care team designs, develops, and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including Libre 2, Libre 3, and the Libre Sense system. We currently have an opportunity for a Sensor Technician to join our Research and Development Sensor Manufacture team, providing pivotal support to the ongoing activities around our future growth as a business. The R&D Sensor Technician role will be responsible for the daily processes conducted within the R&D Sensor Laboratories ensuring that all equipment and materials are available to support business critical Development product manufacture and new project introductions.
Due to the everchanging product pipeline and introduction of new sensor technology the role requires adaptability to new and complex manufacturing techniques and instrumentation. The role will be active in supporting prototype sensor manufacture and assisting R&D Scientists/Engineers in product development activities. As a Subject Matter Expert in multiple Laboratory processes, that maintain progression of daily activities (quality, compliance, machine calibration, etc), they will ensure that equipment is available, operational and that the area is in a compliant audit ready state. The role will be involved with the planning and logistics of all R&D sensor-based studies including the production of procedures and in providing support, guidance, and knowledge to other functions on site with product investigations.
