What You Will Do -
The R&D Senior Technician works independently with project teams, technicians, engineers, and scientists in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.
- Apply engineering statistics tools (e.g., DOE) to characterize and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Analyze test data, calculate statistics, and contribute to comprehensive product test reports.
- Serve as a technical lead, delivering cross-functional training on new processes, materials, test methods, and prototypes.
- Support engineers in developing work instructions and validating new processes prior to release.
- Become a subject matter expert on complex test equipment, train team members on proper operation, and ensure calibration and preventive maintenance compliance.
- Participate in project team meetings, coordinating task execution and tracking progress against key deliverables.
- Identify and collaborate with new and existing vendors to source materials, equipment, tools, and supplies for project needs.
- Create preliminary engineering drawings and documentation, develop and verify specifications, and contribute innovative concepts for advanced prototypes and fixtures.
- Partner with Process Engineers to design, develop, prototype, test, validate, and implement manufacturing processes for neurovascular medical devices.
- Build quality into all aspects of your work, ensuring compliance with GLP, QS, and validated methods and documentation standards.
What You Need -
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Two-year Technical Degree (AA, Certificate) or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
- Technical work experience in medical device development.
- Experience creating preliminary equipment layouts, prototype drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Bench fixturing and tooling design experience.
$32.22 – $44.57 per hour plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
