Summary
The R&D Project Manager will support our growing US-based Research & Development team by leading complex solar inverter technology projects from concept through completion. Working closely with our Austria‑headquartered global R&D organization, this position oversees project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring technical quality, timeline adherence, and alignment with corporate standards. The R&D Project Manager coordinates cross‑functional and international teams, manages project risks and resources, and maintains strong stakeholder relationships. This position is ideal for a technically minded project leader with strong organizational skills and a passion for advancing renewable energy innovation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manages and designs the entire project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Coordinates projects with internal and external development partners.
- Collaborates closely with international product development teams.
- Applies classic, hybrid, or agile project management methodologies based on project requirements.
- Ensures compliance with corporate project management standards and project culture.
- Develops project plans, timelines, milestones, work packages, budgets, project team, and resource allocations.
- Implements control measures, monitor progress through regular status reports, and manages risks with proactive mitigation strategies.
- Represents the project to stakeholders and maintain strong relationships within the project environment.
- Facilitates lessons learned and knowledge transfer at project completion.
- Supports team members in applying project management methods and tools.
- All other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field with 5+ years of experience; or a Master’s with 3+ years of experience
- Minor in Electrical Engineering or related field desired
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 strongly preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP), IPMA Level C, or PRINCE2 certification required
- Proven experience in management of technical projects (theory and practice)
- General knowledge of, and affinity for, PV systems
- Excellent process understanding and business management skills
- Leadership ability with strong organizational and conceptual thinking
- Effective communication skills across diverse technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Possess a valid Passport or has the ability to obtain and pay for a valid Passport
- Limited travel
- Passion for the solar industry and renewable energy
- Familiarity with manufacturing and industrial engineering principles
- Intercultural competence and flexibility.
Health and Safety
