  • The hourly range is $20.00 - $43.00 per hour.

The Role

We’re seeking a curious and motivated R&D intern to join the Chief Scientific Office (CSO) team at CCC. This team operates like a startup within an established company, driving innovation across CCC. Our work focuses on applying cutting-edge machine learning and computer vision techniques to transform and modernize the auto insurance claims process—and beyond. As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience working on impactful projects alongside experienced data scientists and engineers.


 

Key Responsibilities:

As an R&D intern, you will assist in designing, implementing, and evaluating machine learning and deep learning algorithms using diverse data types: images, videos, text, and tabular data. You’ll collaborate with team members to explore new ideas, prototype solutions, and contribute to building predictive capabilities for CCC’s software products.

Your work will span three key areas:

· Research & Feasibility: Support hypothesis testing and data-driven experimentation to validate new concepts.

· Build & Prototype: Help implement algorithms for training and evaluating models, and assist in developing proof-of-concept solutions.

· Model Maintenance: Learn how models in production are monitored, retrained, and enhanced with new features.


 

Requirements:

In order to be considered for this role you are required to be in pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor's or Master's throughout your internship.

Education

· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

Technical Skills

· Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.

· Familiarity with Python and ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

· Exposure to data manipulation and analysis using NumPy, pandas, etc.

· Basic experience with frontend development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for building simple demo interfaces to showcase ML prototypes.

Nice-to-Have

· Interest in computer vision, NLP, or LLMs.

· Coursework or projects involving CNNs, transformers, or sequential models.

· Familiarity with Git and Linux environments.
