Hexcel is currently seeking a R&D Industrial Placement Student for our Duxford, UK location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

• Support data generation projects by hands-on specimen preparation and mechanical testing, data analysis and failure mode investigations.
• Summarise and provide insights into the test data, and present to project colleagues of various functions and disciplines.
• Support new test method development or implementation, including introducing new equipment, technologies or automation algorithms to the laboratories.
• Document learnings and present to peers.
• Support continuous improvement activities to make existing processes or procedures safer and more streamlined and effective.

Qualifications:

• Materials science, mechanical engineering or chemical engineering degree level education.
• Knowledge in composite materials.
• Practical experience or knowledge in mechanical testing.
• Experience is using advanced Excel features or coding.
• Reliable, aptitude to learn, hands-on and proactive.
