Accountable for managing a portfolio of contracts supporting R&D, Medical Affairs and CTO projects.
Accountable for drafting, negotiating, and executing these contracts, ensuring compliance to legal-approved templates, negotiation parameters and corporate policies and being the point of contact for issues outside these agreed parameters.
Escalate any deviations or risk-sensitive terms to Business Partner or Senior Counsel, R&D.
Act as operational partner to Legal in supporting R&D contracting priorities.
Participate in training and performance reviews related to risk tolerance and escalation compliance.
Work with External Service Providers (CROs), agreeing contract templates and negotiation parameters and being the point of contact for issues outside these agreed parameters.
Work closely with Legal Counsel, IP Counsel, Data Privacy Counsel, QA and Transparency Reporting team to ensure all contracts are consistent with legislation and are in compliance with Good Clinical Practice, Standard Operating Procedures, and Corporate Policies, Guidelines and Standards.
Monitor negotiation progress and manage issue escalation and resolution ensuring internal stakeholders, including the contract requestor, external partners, legal, finance, are informed.
Communicate contracting timelines and critical issues to internal stakeholders and external partners.
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and process to improve efficiency.
Assist Legal in the development of templates and guidance documentation.
Provide guidance to Contract Specialist where necessary.
Bachelor’s degree (law, business, or related field).
Legal Qualifications.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in contract management and negotiation .
Familiarity with GxP environments preferred.
Strong written and oral English communication skills.
Ability to interface with and internal and external customers, responding in a professional manner.
Demonstrate clear understanding acceptable of risk tolerance and negotiation boundaries.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and effective teamwork skills.
Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation.
Strong process improvement mindset.
Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects adjusting to changing priorities and follow through on all assignments utilizing effective time management and organizational skills.
Experience in interpreting standard commercial terms.
Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Legal key stakeholders, including Legal, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
