Job Description

Partners with the Everyday Banking and Borrowing team within Consumer and Business Banking (CBB), in addition to RCA Consultants and RCA Managers within the CBB Risk Management team to actively identify, respond, and mitigate risks in order to maintain an effective risk management framework.  You be accountable for oversight of issue management and customer remediation activities and will be engaged in projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. You will act as a strong partner and liaison to assist the Everyday Banking and Borrowing team with identification of gaps and drive solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems, or human errors. Accountable for an effective partnership between the Line of Business and the Second and Third Lines of Defense.



Position Highlights

  • Provide issue management, customer remediation guidance, and consultation for assigned business lines
  • Engage on business line risk assessments. Understand impacts leading to business lines’ risk ratings
  • Consult with business lines on audit findings; assist with determining acceptable risk balanced solutions providing credible challenge when needed
  • Manage projects and execution related to applicable customer remediation events
  • Provide support for business lines throughout the lifecycle (e.g. scoping, execution) of customer remediation events. Review remediated issues for completeness and sustainability
  • Monitor business lines open remediation issues and provide credible challenge. Ensure progress toward completion is on target and escalate any risks when appropriate
  • Work with business units to support audits through request management, monitor status, conduct pre-assessments as needed, and provide credible challenge as appropriate
  • Understand business lines’ product, policies, procedures, and process “road maps.” Provide risk guidance on potential enhancements. Engage as needed on corporate change control process to ensure change requests are reviewed and processed efficiently
  • Work with the business line to understand proposed business changes. Monitor progress on business change risk assessments and complete post implementation reviews to ensure risk mitigation plans are completed and changes have been implemented as planned
  • Provide subject matter expert input on risk related issues. Partner with business lines, IT and other areas to determine best risk balanced approach to threats or issues

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 8 or more years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Five or more years working in audit, compliance or risk management
  • Ten or more years of professional work experience
  • Strong understanding of the consumer products servicing processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Hybrid/flexible schedule

 

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
