As a Raw Material Evaluation Expert, you'll be part of PSRA (Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs) and will play a crucial role in ensuring our innovative products meet the highest safety and regulatory standards while enabling us to deliver cutting-edge solutions to markets worldwide.

Position Purpose

Lead the evaluation of Covestro raw materials according to chemicals legislation, including compilation and update of comprehensive raw material information such as chemical composition, physical-chemical data, (eco)toxicological data, and marketability data.

This function has significant impact on Covestro's ability to deliver products to relevant markets by ensuring full compliance with chemicals legislation. Your expertise will directly contribute to our company's success and reputation as a leader in sustainable materials innovation.

What We Offer

Lead Independent Raw Material Evaluations

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of global and local Covestro raw materials according to chemicals legislation
• Perform independent substance classification and evaluation according to regulatory requirements
• Analyze toxicological and ecotoxicological data from suppliers and legislative sources

Manage Critical Data Systems & Documentation

• Create, maintain, and ensure consistency of raw material data for product safety (SAP EHS)
• Archive processes, documents, and records in PSRA archiving systems
• Compile and update essential raw material information including chemical composition and safety data

Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Leadership

• Coordinate with PSRA experts across regions (EMEA/APAC/NA) including toxicologists, regulatory affairs, and raw material specialists
• Lead and participate in raw material safety-driven cross-functional projects with interdisciplinary teams
• Plan, participate in, and provide project leadership for complex regulatory initiatives

The minimum salary on this position is 2300 EUR monthly. The salary can be higher depending on the skills and experience of the candidate.

What You Offer

Education & Experience

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or comparable field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in product safety
• Comprehensive knowledge of chemicals legislation and product safety matters

Technical Expertise

• Detailed chemical expertise with strong understanding of toxicological/ecotoxicological principles
• Comprehensive IT knowledge including SAP basics and MS Office applications
• Experience with regulatory compliance and data management systems

Communication & Collaboration

• Fluency in English is mandatory and German is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills with ability to reach agreements in diverse teams
• Strong intercultural competencies and proven team player mindset
