ABOUT US
The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
Why this role matters
The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of homelessness services. Rising living costs, low rental vacancy rates and limited affordable housing options have created significant barriers for people seeking stable accommodation. The Rapid Rehousing program provides intensive, timely support to individuals in crisis accommodation who are ready to transition into private rental, helping them secure housing and stabilise their lives.
About the role
As a Rapid Rehousing Worker, this is your opportunity to provide intensive, short‑term support to individuals placed in crisis or emergency accommodation who have been assessed as private‑rental ready. You will work alongside clients to secure private rental, coordinate accommodation co‑contributions, and provide up to four weeks of interim support once they have moved into their new home.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Homelessness Barwon, this is a max-term part time position, 30.4 hours per week, contracted for 12 months, located onsite in Geelong, VIC.
Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award Level 5.
