Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Railway Construction Field Engineer to support ongoing rail infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5-10 years' field experience working on major signalling projects, strong technical drawing interpretation skills, and the ability to produce clear and accurate site reports. You will be a key liaison between the office project management team and site operations, providing real-time feedback on constructability and productivity ensuring the contractor is installing as per submitted working schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily construction activities on project sites, ensuring adherence to approved design drawings and safety standards.
- Review and interpret technical design drawings, ensuring their applicability and accuracy in the field.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on the constructability of designs, identifying potential issues or improvements.
- Participate in the review of work plans, construction sequences, and method statements to ensure feasibility and compliance with project objectives.
- Prepare and submit field observation reports, including site progress, non-conformances, and recommendations.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other engineering personnel to resolve on-site issues.
- Conduct inspections and verifications to ensure workmanship and materials meet specified requirements.
- Ensure all work is executed in accordance with relevant railway standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Attend and contribute to daily site coordination meetings and progress briefings.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 -10 years' experience in railway signalling construction or civil infrastructure field engineering.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical design drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Strong analytical skills to assess work plans and provide constructability feedback.
- Experience producing structured and concise field reports with observations and recommendations.
- Working knowledge of rail construction standards and safety procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and familiarity with CAD, PDF markup tools, or field reporting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and work in a field-based environment.
Desirable:
- Degree or diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience with mainline, light rail, or metro rail projects.
- Rail safety certifications (e.g., CROR or PTS).

Salary Range: $32.64 - $56.68
