Job Summary:

This position assists Radiology personnel in a multi-disciplinary setting, by completing data entry of radiology examinations and supply charges. Demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or technologist’s generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed radiology personnel.

Job Description:

  • Operates necessary software systems for data entry, charging, and completion of radiology examinations.
  • Assist Radiology Department by transporting patients to and from the Radiology Department, patient rooms, and other outpatient departments.
  • Greets and assists patients/ visitors to the department, using good customer service skills.  Serves as an Ambassador ensuring patient’s non-clinical needs are met.   Assists patients with Radiology paperwork.
  • Acquires all necessary patient information for ordering of the multi-disciplined procedures.  Assures all proper insurance and documentations are attained and recorded appropriately.  Verifies ICD-10 and CPT codes for Medicare billing.  If not available when patient registers, employee must contact the ordering physician and add the documentation. 
  • Communicates via a variety of methods to referring physicians, patients or other interested parties in accordance with departmental policy and following HIPPA guidelines.  Answers and directs phone calls to the appropriate parties.
  • Follow the safety steps required to perform their duties and be in compliance with medical, state and federal safety standards.  They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current CPR Certification

Specialized Knowledge: 

  • Strong Communication skills by various methods (telephone, face to face, etc.)
  • Good organizational skills
  • Must be able to navigate through computer systems
