$38.20 - $57.30Major Responsibilities: Coordinator analyzes Radiology Information System data, providing reporting tools for process study, CQI, and departmental statistics for examining specific issues with departmental operations. 1) Reports • Runs custom reports according to the frequency specified on report request forms. • Provide reports from RIS for Director/Radiologist as requested. • Assists department managers in work process evaluation to determine the type of report or export needed. • Consults with the requester when the report is complete to determine if specifications have been met and makes any necessary changes. • Provides department directors with custom productivity reports and statistics including monthly exam totals and report turnaround times. • Support Radiology Information System (RIS) in providing results of Diagnostic Imaging exams to physicians. 2) Monitoring of systems • Monitor current RIS functions and procedures for operation as designed. • Build, develop, train and implement additional RIS functions/features and monitor use. • Coordinate interdepartmental RIS users (Unit Secretaries, ER/OP clerks, Transcriptionists, Technologists, Radiology Clerks, Radiologists, HIS staff and Risk Management). • Monitor Radiology charges (go to person for proper charging). • Attend meetings as requested. • Become the liaison/trainer for the Radiologist on the existing web server. • Provide assistance in Department CQI activities. Rectify unmerged reports within Powerscribe, Radiologist Dictation System. Powerscribe site Liaison. Database maintenance, updates, accurate patient and physician information, ensuring proper patient billing, and guarantee appropriate system user access for all departmental staff. Assist in exams and patient merging within PACS system. Build procedures within PACS. 1) Maintains the procedure and supply listing by entering new procedures and supplies, makes updates when necessary, coordinates procedure activation with the Finance and I.S. departments and file development with corporate. 2) Assigns sign-on and passwords for new users 3) Prepares a user profile sheet for all new users listing their assigned access codes 4)• Serves as the point of contact and Master Trainer for CERNER Radnet to communicate any system changes, and communicates pertinent changes in the RIS system to the Supervisors/Chief Techs 5) Updating of system to include removal of passwords and old charges. 6)Acts as point person for charge reconcilation when need arises in RIS/Allegra systems (Batch Charge Rectification). Participates with the planning, management, implementation and evaluation of operations/services as related to PACS to insure quality cost effectiveness. 1)Assists with prioritizing and facilitation of the ongoing professional development of hospital associates and physicans as it pertains to PACS. 2)Responsible for trouble shooting and testing system and network problems. Is sites first pass for system problems prior to issue escalation. 3)Assists in ensuring accuracy of system data base and maintains updated records. 4)Assists with the management and review of system performance, utilization, error log, and functionality reports. 5)Monitors DI system production interfaces directly. Coordinator acts as the central point for Help Desk requests and assists Diagnostic Services and Cardiac Supervisors/Chief Techs in evaluating, servicing, and ensuring the timely resolution of all information system related problems/issues. 1) Determines the priority of each Help Desk call, resolves the problem or assigns the call to the appropriate resource. 2) Establishes/maintains/communicates proper downtime procedures 3) Assists in training as needed 4) Provides assistance to department Supervisors/Chief Techs for problem resolution 5) Communicates all scheduled and non-scheduled downtime on all systems. Be able to act in the position of Radiology Tech whenever there is a severe shortage within the department. Education/Experience Required: - Associates degree in Computer Science or Health Science - Basic knowledge of computer systems - 3-5 years radiology experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: - Good knowledge of computer and networking applications - Good written and oral communication skills - Good understanding of the clinical and operational environment of a hospital A.R.R.T. Registered I.D.N.S. Licensure Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: - This position requires on-call availability 24/7 day - Ability to handle sensitive PC equipment and printers that may require lifting and moving (40 to 50 lbs.). - Ability to extend oneself to lend RIS, MUSE and Powerscribe support beyond an 8-hour shift, different shifts, or weekends to all Advocate sites. - Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations with physicians. - Available for on-call for RIS, MUSE, Powerscribe and PACS support. - Strong ability to communicate with all hospital personnel. - Adaptability in dealing with change. - Ability to use problem-solving skills, able to resolve problems and identify creative solutions in a timely manner.
