As a Radiology Imaging Associate, you are responsible for providing clerical assistance to technical staff, coordinating all film assembly for report interventions and ensuring efficient image tracking, procedure activities and distribution. This position is a great steppingstone for Radiology Students and future Imaging Techs, as you gain extensive hands-on experience in a fast-paced and engaging clinical setting.  

 

A caregiver in this position works evenings from 2:30PM – 10:30PM, including some weekends and holidays. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Support all Radiology Modalities (General Diagnostics, Ultrasound, MRI, Nuclear, Interventional, PET, Mammography and CT areas) with clerical assistance, answering phones and processing requests courteously timely. 

  • Relay preliminary test results to attending physicians. 

  • Use RIS to complete demand faxing, faxing or printing reports. 

  • Pull up patient exam history and verification of electronic images.  

  • Complete all documents properly and verify all legal requirements for sorting, copying, and faxing. 

  • Sort and scan the appropriate Radiology documents into patient's permanent medical records. 

  • Relay study information to appropriate Radiologist or physician for immediate interpretation. 

  • Call patients to remind them of their appointments. 

  • Distribute fax request to appropriate individuals and prepare/mail CD requests (when available and applicable) to patients, physicians or attorneys. 

  • Burn CDs from PACS system for patients, physicians, offices and other authorized customers as requested and consistent with departmental policies and guidelines. 

  • Electronically sign in any outside facility CD images to the Department of Radiology's Picture Archive Computer System (PACS) as per written policy. 

  • Assist Technologist in the capacity of a technical assistant in Mass Casualty Incidents.  

  • Prepare reports and upload electronic images from PACS to the RISI PC for multiple Radiologist conferences.  

  • Assist all physicians with PACS/RIS issues. 

  • Assist and document after hours call-in for STAT MRIs. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Proficiency with basic Windows applications 

  • Ability to file in terminal digital order 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Picture Archive Communications System (PACS) or Radiology Information System (RIS) experience 

  • Clerical experience 

  • Imaging student 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
