About the Role

  • To deliver clinical radiological diagnostic and procedural services to the Department's patients in MID/SVPR.
  • To provide these services to St Vincent's Health inpatients, outpatients and patients externally referred to MRI and SVPR (including patients of the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and inpatients of St Vincent's and Mercy Private Hospital).
  • ​To deliver services in a way that will best meet the clinical needs and requirements of the particular referrer or responsible consultant (as the case may be) for any one patient.
  • To deliver these services independently and unsupervised, in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • To deliver specialist clinical radiological services in MID and SVPR

Duties:

  • Deliver specialist diagnostic and procedural radiological services across all sites (MID, SVPR and MRI) as rostered.
  • Participation in the on call and weekend roster.
  • Lead and support clinical meetings, discrepancy meetings, journal club, registrar educational meetings


Classifications for this position will range from classification range ($- $per annum). Dependent of level of experience.

Your Contribution
• Medical Degree from a medical school recognized in Victoria

· RANZCR Fellowship

· Registration with AHPRA

· Good standing with own Medical Defense Organisation

Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain/ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain

  • Completion of radiology training in an accredited RANZCR program or equivalent
  • Competence in general radiology, including plain film radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT and MRI
  • Procedural skills in general radiology

About Add in Department Name

St. Vincent’s Medical Imaging Department (MID) is a tertiary imaging department providing a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services to SVHM’s inpatients and outpatients. St Vincent’s Medical Imaging (MI) is a combined nuclear medicine and radiology department and provides four comprehensive diagnostic imaging programs across three campus sites:

  • Medical Imaging Department (MID)
  • St Vincent’s Private Radiology (SVPR)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging Centre (MRI)
  • Positron Emission Tomography Centre (PET).

The department provides 150,000+ image guided therapies yearly across campus to support and facilitate the quaternary services provided by SVHM. All diagnostic modalities are offered, including PET/CT, which is fully integrated into the Medical Imaging Department. Interventional services include general and vascular procedures and interventional neuroradiology. Similarly, diagnostic imaging and procedural interventions are provided to the state based Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma service, Cardiac Catheter Labs, Vascular Labs and Operating Suites.

St. Vincent’s Private Radiology (SVPR) is a co-located comprehensive private radiology service providing imaging services to St. Vincent Private Hospital, the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and private outpatients.
