First (Days)Overview:
Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include but are not limited to:
• Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT)
• Deliver brachytherapy treatment
• Perform patient simulation; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and
protection devices
• Reviewing patient records for accuracy
• Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
• Maintaining patient records, reports, and files
Associates level Degree required
Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of an Associate degree will also be considered.
ARRT Radiation Therapy - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
All new graduates will remain Radiation Therapist I for the first 2 years of employment and are required to pass boards within 6 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
