Precise Radiation Therapy Technique: Administers prescribed radiation therapy, demonstrating expertise in equipment operation, human anatomy, and patient positioning for effective treatments.
Efficient Care Management: Manages simulation and treatment schedules to ensure efficient, appropriate patient care.
Optimal Patient Setup: Conducts simulations to optimize patient setup for radiation treatments.
Comprehensive Treatment Compliance: Ensures radiation therapy follows the prescribed plan for positive patient outcomes.
Patient Education Advocate: Educates patients and their families to enhance compliance with care plans.
Continuous Skill Enhancement: Stays up-to-date on skills and techniques in the field of radiation therapy; Commits to professional development to maintain technical knowledge to educate other staff members, as well as self.
Organized Workplace Environment: Keeps supplies and equipment organized to promote a positive work setting.
This position involves the possibility of high-stress situations, as well as frequent exposure to infections, hazardous substances, occasional radiation, and possible toxic chemicals. It also includes the risk of injury from equipment, exposure to unpleasant elements, handling varying potential crises, irregular hours, and potential need for judgment/actions that could impact patient outcomes, including the possibility of patient fatality.
