About MUSC Radiation Medicine
MUSC Health Radiation Medicine is a dynamic, academically driven department committed to innovation and excellence. We treat approximately 1,700 patients annually and are the only program in South Carolina offering both Total Body Irradiation (TBI) and Total Skin Electron Therapy (TSET).
Advanced Technology & Clinical Resources
You’ll work with cutting-edge systems, including:
o 2 Varian TrueBeam and 1 TrueBeam STx with HD MLC
o Accuray Radixact
o Elekta Flexitron HDR (dedicated brachytherapy suite planned for 2026)
o Varian VariSeed LDR with QuickLink (I-125, Pd-103, Cs-131)
o Gamma Knife Esprit
o Siemens Somatom Confidence RT Pro CT simulators with RGSC & RPM
o VisionRT optical surface monitoring
Treatment Planning Systems:
Eclipse with ARIA, RayStation, GammaPlan, Nucletron Oncentra
Specialized Services:
Eye plaque planning (I-125), GammaTile (Cs-131), MIM-supported workflows
Physics Resources:
IBA & SNC scanning systems, Mobius, Velocity, comprehensive QA instrumentation
Additional Job Description
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
Master’s or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or related discipline
Preferred experience with:
o Varian TrueBeam
o Eclipse treatment planning
o Elekta HDR
o Gamma Knife
Programming expertise and a strong interest in emerging technologies are highly desirable
