Primary Responsibilities
This position is based at Leidos’ main campus in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will collaborate with executive leadership, program managers, chief engineers, technical staff, business development, and functional organizations across the Leidos enterprise to provide:
Effective and efficient execution of new and existing programs supporting a broad range of Department of Defense customers and contractors.
Leadership in growing a talented engineering team and mentoring junior engineers into strong technical contributors and future organizational leaders.
Technical direction for maintaining and expanding software and firmware codebases for radar and electronic warfare sensor systems, including real-time system architectures and signal processing algorithms.
Cultivation of existing customer relationships and development of new relationships to grow and strengthen our customer base.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred) with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience working within a team to develop and integrate radar and/or electronic warfare sensor technology.
Strong technical background in enabling technologies for RF and EW sensors, including real-time software, high-speed networking and/or storage technologies, and radar signal processing algorithms.
Strong knowledge of C++ and object-oriented design principles.
Solid software engineering background with experience defining and enforcing engineering best practices (configuration management, coding standards, code reviews, testability, and design for reusability).
Ability to identify business development opportunities and support proposal activities.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active Secret clearance.
Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville–North Alabama region.
Preferred Qualifications
Radar Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and a Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
Familiarity with MATLAB and CUDA.
Familiarity with VHDL (preferred but not required).
Experience in recruiting and interviewing technical staff
