We are seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Quoting Manager to lead our estimating and quotation process within our Tool & Die operations. This role is serving as the central point for evaluating customer requests, analyzing tooling requirements, and generating accurate, competitive, and timely quotes.
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background in tool and die manufacturing combined with excellent communication and documentation ability
Key Responsibilities:
Quotation & Estimating
Review customer RFQs, prints, CAD models, and specifications to determine scope of work.
Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for; molds, tooling components, repair jobs, and engineering changes.
Identify required materials, machining processes, labor hours, & outsourcing needs.
Collaborate with engineering, project management, and tooling manufacturing teams to validate feasibility and costing assumptions.
Maintain quote templates, costing models, and standardized documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as a cross-functional team member between: Sales, Engineering, and customers on quotation-related inquiries.
Participate in design reviews and feasibility studies to ensure alignment between customer requirements and manufacturing capability.
Work closely with purchasing to obtain accurate vendor pricing for raw materials, heat treat, coatings, EDM, grinding, and other outsourced services.
Process and Performance Management
Lead and continuously improve the quoting workflow to increase speed, accuracy, and consistency.
Track quote performance metrics including win/loss rates, margins, turnaround time, and accuracy.
Maintain organized records of all quotes, supporting quote information, mold build descriptions, revisions, and customer communications.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in tool & die, precision machining, stamping, mold building, or related manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of die design, manufacturing processes, machining methods, and tooling cost drivers.
Proficiency with CAD software, SolidWorks, for part and tooling review.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft based applications.
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in quoting, estimating, or project management.
Demonstrates strong independent problem solving skills
Ability to read detailed prints and interpret engineering prints with high accuracy.
Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
