About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and safety-focused Foreperson to lead our Aggregate operations. This role is critical in ensuring efficient production, compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, and maintaining high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Policy, Local Managers’ Rules, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
  • Lead and motivate a team, ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of labour, plant, and materials.
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain the concrete plant to meet production and quality standards.
  • Plan daily production based on customer requirements and plant capacity.
  • Manage start-up and shut-down procedures and optimise throughput.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and monitoring of plant equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs within competence and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Operate mobile plant equipment (Front-End Loaders, dumpers) for loading and material movement.
  • Refuel and maintain mobile plant (greasing, cleaning) as per Heidelberg Materials standards.
  • Complete daily inspection sheets and report defects promptly.
  • Submit near-miss reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Liaise with colleagues, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth operations.

  • Experience in aggregate operations or similar environment.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to operate and maintain static and mobile plant equipment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
