Risk Appetite and Insights team is seeking a dynamic and experienced role to lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of risk appetite frameworks across the organization.
This strategic role is responsible for ensuring that risk-taking activities align with Freddie Mac’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the design, development, and enhancement of risk appetite frameworks and metrics.
• Analyze risk data and trends to inform risk appetite decisions and reporting.
Collaborate with business units, risk teams, and senior management to integrate risk appetite into strategic planning and business processes.
• Prepare and present risk appetite analytics and reports to executive leadership and the Board.
• Monitor emerging risks and recommend adjustments to risk appetite statements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to risk appetite.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts on risk analytics best practices.
• PhD in Economics, Statistics, Math, Computer Science or a related quantitative field with at least 3 years of related post-graduate work experience; or Master degree with at least 5 years of related experience
• 8+ years of experience in risk management, risk analytics, or related field in the financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of risk appetite concepts, risk frameworks, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., Fed, Basel).
• Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., SAS, Python, SQL) and visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $143,000 - $215,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
