About Analytics Product (AP)

The Analytics Product team empowers investment and risk management decision‑making for BlackRock and Aladdin clients through industry‑leading models, analytics, research, and investor workflows. The team delivers value for users, clients, and prospects by reliably delivering on commitments, crafting compelling research and applied solutions, enabling new opportunities with fit‑for‑purpose analytics, and applying deep subject‑matter expertise across the client lifecycle.

 

In close collaboration with partner teams across the Aladdin Business, the team executes the analytics and product development lifecycle with end‑to‑end ownership, accelerating model development and delivery through agile processes, leading the deployment of new model features and infrastructure enhancements, driving adoption across the Aladdin community, and promoting model quality through disciplined processes and governance.

 

Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Owner with strong expertise in factor models and portfolio risk methodologies (VaR, Stress Testing) to help deliver the next generation of risk models on Aladdin, with a particular focus on Private Markets. The role partners closely with product managers, quantitative modelers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure scalable, high‑quality, and commercially impactful analytics solutions for internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the analytics product roadmap by defining product requirements, contributing to technical architecture discussions, and securing mandates to deliver commercially viable solutions.
  • Lead agile delivery with cross‑functional teams, ensuring transparency, predictability, and timely execution.
  • Deliver next‑generation portfolio risk models on Aladdin, with emphasis on Private Markets analytics.
  • Partner with engineering teams to design, build, and validate scalable infrastructure and APIs for risk models.
  • Apply deep expertise in risk methodologies including factor models, Ex‑ante risk, Historical & Monte Carlo VaR, and Stress Testing.
  • Perform independent analytical validation of new and existing models through scenario‑based testing and large‑scale analysis.
  • Engage stakeholders across the Aladdin ecosystem to align on priorities, dependencies, risks, and adoption.
  • Leverage AI to automate and streamline processes, improving efficiency and throughput.
  • Collaborate with clients, portfolio managers, and risk managers to translate business needs into clear product specifications.
  • Support production deployment, maintenance, documentation, and resolution of complex analytical queries.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in a product role, preferably delivering financial risk or analytics models.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio risk, factor models, and financial analytics; Private Markets experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead ambiguous, cross‑functional initiatives in an agile environment.
  • Educational background in Finance, Engineering, Business, or a quantitative field (Bachelor’s required; advanced degree preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of Private Market asset classes (e.g., Real Estate, Private Equity, Infrastructure).
  • Technical aptitude including Linux, SQL, scripting, and familiarity with Python or advanced Excel.
  • CFA or FRM designation is a plus.
