What You'll Do:
Responsible for overseeing daily quality assurance activities to ensure products meet food safety, regulatory, and company quality standards. Supervises QA technicians and supports inspection, testing, auditing, and documentation processes to ensure consistent product quality and compliance.
Quality Assurance Execution
Oversee daily quality checks, inspections, and testing activities
Ensure adherence to product specifications and quality standards
Review and verify accuracy of quality documentation and records
Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety requirements
Support product holds, releases, and disposition decisions
Compliance & Auditing
Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP, AIB, and BRCGS standards
Support internal audits, third-party audits, and regulatory inspections
Assist in mock recalls and traceability exercises
Identify, document, and escalate quality or food safety issues
Issue Resolution & Investigation
Assist in investigating customer complaints and quality deviations
Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs)
Partner with production and sanitation teams to resolve issues
Track and document quality trends and recurring problems
Team Leadership
Supervise QA technicians and/or lab personnel
Provide training on quality procedures, inspection techniques, and documentation
Assign daily tasks and ensure timely completion
Monitor attendance and timekeeping
Provide input on performance management and development
Systems & Continuous Improvement
Support implementation and maintenance of quality systems and procedures
Assist with environmental monitoring and sampling programs
Help maintain approved supplier/vendor documentation as needed
Identify opportunities to improve product quality and process control
What You'll Bring:
High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field preferred
2–5 years of experience in quality assurance or food manufacturing
Prior leadership or lead experience preferred
Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Ability to analyze data and identify trends or issues
Effective communication skills, including ability to explain technical concepts
Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, QA systems)
Where You'll Work:
Combination of production floor and office/lab environment
Exposure to manufacturing conditions (temperature changes, noise, etc.)
May require flexible hours, including weekends or off-shifts
