Working for the Quality Manager of the Halifax Manufacturing Center, the QR contributes to the department by applying advanced knowledge on compliance with industry standards, company standards and regulatory requirements. Responsible for entire projects with significant scope and complexity. Has knowledge and expertise with multidisciplinary breadth in the area of quality assurance and manufacturing technologies. 

The position is based at our Enfield location, from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

The QR will have to accomplish the following tasks:

  • Ensure product integrity and quality control;
  • Ensure compliance, communication and awareness of quality requirements in the aeronautical field;
  • Identify, submit and implement quality system improvement needs;
  • Respond to non-conformance quality notifications (QN) to assess the condition of parts and determine the dispositions;
  • Coordinate, communicate with the different groups (planning, engineering, production) and facilitate the non-conformity management process;
  • Participate in quality clinics for product improvement;
  • Perform visual inspections by handling appropriate measuring instruments. 

What do you need to be successful?

Must-haves:

  • Degree or Diploma in an engineering discipline, Journeyman machinist, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 5 Years (minimum) experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with CAD software, Catia V5 preferable.
  • Knowledge of SAP, PLM, Vericut, IMS, MSP, AS9102 (asset).
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite and MS project
  • Teamwork, autonomy, good communication.

Assets:

  • Quality Review - QR or Planning experience;
  • Technical expertise and knowledge of the manufacture of aerospace parts;
  • Experience with reading Blueprints and geometric tolerances;
  • Good oral and written communication in English;
  • Knowledge of problem solving processes (ex. Dive / DAISE) ;
  • Experience in quality control and the use of measurement instruments;
  • Ability to simultaneously work on several tasks;
  • Knowledge of SAP system.
