Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Associate Quality Production Specialist for the 787-program located in North Charleston, South Carolina.

The Associate Quality Production Specialist will receive specialized training to act as a Delegate (proxy) for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in performing FDA airplane certification inspections.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Completes all initial and ongoing Boeing and FDA required training

  • Able to understand and apply FDA regulations and requirements applicable to airplane certification inspections

  • Completes initial FDA Delegate audit and maintain ongoing FDA delegation by completing periodic Delegate audits conducted by the FDA

  • Performs delegated FDA airplane inspections on behalf of the FDA to ensure product compliance to FDA design and inspection requirements

  • Identifies and documents noncompliant FDA product and performs the required corrective action activities

  • Describes and conveys noncompliant FDA conditions to engineering and manufacturing groups

  • Completes all associated Boeing administrative requirements in support of FDA airplane certification

  • Shares information and knowledge with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate FDA findings

  • Supports periodic airplane inspections conducted by FDA personnel

  • Communicates airplane certification status and findings to FDA personnel as the need arises

  • Works with Boeing Receiving personnel to ensure comprehensive inspections are conducted and documented

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience working with Quality Management Systems

  • 2+ years of experience working in a cross-functional environment

  • 2+ years of experience working with inspection and related inspection techniques

  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel to capture, format, and manipulate data for the purpose of performing both business related and technical analysis

  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling and lifting

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required communication regarding requirements to resolve issues effectively 

  • Experience as an FDA Program Administrator, FDA Delegate, mechanic or quality technician accomplishing FDA-sensitive installations/inspections

  • Experience working with a regulatory agency

  • Experience in the Galley, Lavatory and Door areas

  • Experience with Sealant application and inspection

  • Velocity training
