Quality Manager I

The Quality Division is seeking a Quality Manager to lead our Data Analysis team, focused on the preparation, storage, analysis, reporting, and review of this critical data. Reporting to the Vice President of Quality on our Pullman campus, this people leader will organize and operate our quality data processes. Candidates with leadership experience, familiarity with SEL design and/or manufacturing test practice, a data analysis or other technical degree, and those who follow and promote our SEL Values are highly sought after for this position. As a Quality Manager a typical day might include the following: 

  • Supervising, developing, and mentoring Quality data employees through coaching, feedback, exposure, and stretch assignments.

  • Analyzing data to support and promote data-driven decisions.

  • Leading department initiatives to meet operational objectives.

  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting collaboration with assigned teams to meet quality objectives.

  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting the facilitation of cross-functional meetings to address quality issues and brainstorm solutions.

  • Leading, facilitating, and managing problem-solving initiatives in support of strategic objectives.

  • Partnering with leadership to implement programs designed to teach root cause analysis; serving as a strategic partner and advisor.

  • Following and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

  • Leading the design, development, and implementation of processes that align with our quality policy: Understand. Create. Simplify.


This job might be for you if you have:

  • A BS in Data Analytics, Engineering, Operations Management, or other technical degrees.

  • Proficiency in data cleaning, storage, management, analysis, and reporting.

  • 8+ years of related experience.

  • Leadership experience and a strong desire to develop others.

  • Strong facilitation, organization, and communication skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication, along with excellent customer service skills.

  • The ability to use metrics and statistics to champion data-driven decisions.

  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards and an understanding of probability/reliability concepts.

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.

  • A willingness to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

  • The ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Pay Range Data:

We anticipate filling this position as a Quality Manager I, $136,080 - $201,050 per year. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
