Boeing Global Services (BGS), Distribution Business, is seeking a dynamic Quality Manager Configuration Control Management to join our Quality organization in Hialeah, FL.

This front-line leadership role will manage and develop the Part Configuration team (part setup, configuration control, and creation/maintenance of inspection plans.)

This leader will set daily workload, provide direction, guidance, and coaching, and hold themselves and their teams to the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity. The successful candidate will foster an inclusive, transparent culture grounded in humility and continuous improvement and will actively incorporate proven leadership and quality practices.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of inspectors, configuration specialists, and supplier quality engineers/analysts to meet AS9100/9120 and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee the part configuration process: part set up, Master Data accuracy, drawing/engineering cross-references, and creation and maintenance of inspection plans and sampling criteria.

  • Manage supplier quality activities: supplier qualification, incoming material inspection strategy, nonconformance handling, corrective actions (CAPA/8D), and supplier performance metrics.

  • Ensure FAA configuration eligibility and maintain regulatory compliance (FAA, CAA, EASA) across the business unit.

  • Develop and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

  • Partner with Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and Regulatory teams to resolve configuration and supplier quality issues.

  • Lead/process improvement initiatives across functions (Lean, Six Sigma principles preferred).

  • Review and manage IT solutions that support supplier quality and part configuration (e.g., ERP/MRP, PIM, QMS, inspection planning tools).

  • Execute the quality department budget and manage expenses within approved limits.

  • Establish and sustain relationships with internal/external customers, stakeholders, suppliers, and peers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

  • 8 or more years of relevant experience in aerospace quality, supplier quality, or configuration management.

  • 4–6 years of supervisory or leadership experience.

  • Strong understanding of aerospace and OEM drawings, specifications, and engineering change processes.

  • Minimum 4 years working with AS9100/9120 and ASA-100 standards.

  • Demonstrated experience with inspection plan creation and inspection process controls.

  • Experience with supplier qualification, audits, and supplier performance management.

  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Access) and familiarity with ERP/QMS systems.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills; detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communication skills for performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions.

  • Experience with FAA, CAA, and/or EASA regulatory frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a STEM discipline.

  • Experience with Aerospace Quality Assurance and inspection programs.

  • Formal training or certification in quality, supply chain, or continuous improvement (e.g., ASQ, Six Sigma).

  • Experience implementing or managing inspection planning tools and product configuration databases.

Travel:

This position may require traveling up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range: $91,000 - $130,000
