The opportunity
We are looking for a Quality Manager for Bushings to join our team in Transformer Components. The Components business unit within Hitachi Energy, located in Ludvika Sweden, sells and produces high voltage bushings and tap changers to customers worldwide. These components are an essential part of reliable and energy efficient power systems. We are proudly at the forefront of the electrification and grid modernization.
As Quality Manager you will lead our Quality department for Bushings, securing production quality assurance and quality of factory support processes. You foster a strong quality culture, with attention to facts and data, structured methodologies and tools for root-cause analysis and quality improvements. Your team of 12 people consists of Quality Technicians and Quality Specialists, and you will extend the team going forward. The department is responsible for inbound material quality inspections, supplier qualification part approval control measurements, production quality assurance and control, failure investigations, and quality-related continuous improvement work and improvement projects.
How you’ll make an impact
- You will be the manager responsible for the quality department, including daily operations and the development of the team and team members. Focus on safety, quality and efficiency and create engagement and drive towards organizational goals and KPIs.
- Foster a strong quality culture, supporting the organization to increase the use of structured methodologies, processes and quality checks to become more data driven and proactive.
- Ensure the implementation of effective internal quality controls during manufacturing to verify that processes and products will meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
- Actively contributes to continuous improvement of quality department and ways of working, including participation in cross-functional improvement projects of digitalization and inbound material quality inspections.
Your background
- You have strong ability to lead, influence and inspire your team and local stakeholders.
You have previous leadership experience, either from a formal manager position, a project manager role or a change management role leading groups of people towards goals and changes. - You have great self-drive, never doubt acting and can prioritize, plan and set working structures for yourself and others to deliver results.
- You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, or similar technical understanding from work experience from the manufacturing industry.
- Experience within quality is advantageous, e.g. quality assurance, quality control, quality management systems, PDCA, 8D, Lean, Six Sigma, SAP Quality Module or similar.
- Fluency in Swedish written and spoken is required to interact efficiently with local stakeholders and teams.
