Lead the strategic direction of the business to unlock the full potential of the organization and its people. This role is specifically responsible for developing and executing comprehensive quality engineering strategies and systems that drive excellence across the organization. Key areas of focus include:

• Customer Quality & Warranty Management
Collaborate closely with the management team to align efforts under a unified vision, ensuring that quality initiatives support broader business objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership & Development:
- Manage employees and determine employee development needs and strategies.
- Direct the activities of the Supplier Quality group, Customer Quality & Warranty, Quality Assurance and Systems to ensure world-class quality in conjunction with total cost.
- Determine and develop training activities related to product reliability and quality.
- Provide technical leadership to all manufacturing teams.
- Lead and support a teamwork approach to achieving goals, with particular emphasis on AQP activities.
- Collaborate with SCM and manufacturing to lead the development and implementation of effective quality strategies to meet and exceed customer requirements.
- Work with suppliers to drive quality processes through the supply chain.
- Plan and effectively manage resources through cross-functional processes.
- Ensure the Performance Management process is done in a timely and effective manner throughout the departments responsible for.
- Quality Assurance & Systems:
- Develop and oversee a robust quality assurance system that ensures the manufacturing of products meets world-class quality standards.
- Supervise and develop a strong, focused, and highly effective quality staff.
- Conduct current quality management concepts, techniques, and processes.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
- Oversee the Quality Systems implementation and certification processes (e.g., VDA, IATF 16949, etc.).
- Ensure the organization is utilizing the most effective methods.
- Customer Quality:
- Address customer quality issues promptly.
- Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and ensure products meet their expectations.
- Investigate and act to resolve internal and external quality issues.
- Promote a culture that embraces quality and continuous improvement.
- Establish, monitor, and maintain robust internal and external quality systems.
- Warranty Management:
- Oversee warranty claims and processes.
- Analyze warranty data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
- Provide strong leadership in directing the activities of and developing the Warranty and Test group.
- Oversee the technology utilized in warranty and test analysis.
- Supplier Quality:
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure their products meet quality standards.
- Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier quality performance.
- Customer Relationships:
- Build customer-driven and customer-focused relationships through team management.
- Represent the plant at the customer’s location and develop total customer confidence.
- Manufacturing Process:
- Work with manufacturing and manufacturing engineering to identify critical points in the manufacturing process and define quality assurance procedures to ensure their integrity.
- Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures to maximize reliability and minimize costs.
- Other Duties:
- Develop specific work procedures to minimize risks.
- Train employees on the procedures and enforce their use.
- Conduct timely incident investigations and correct root causes.
- Participate in and attend safety meetings and training.
- Track safety issues to closure.
- Perform other duties as needed.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field from a four-year college or university.
Post-graduate degree preferred.
- 7 to 10 years related quality experience, including 5 years related supervisory experience in the automotive industry.
- Strong background in quality processes, test and facilities engineering, process improvement and a history of related achievements. Six Sigma Black Belt certification a plus.
- Evidence of significant accomplishments in setting vision, reducing PPM, developing quality systems, providing engineering support and developing & delivering manufacturing strategies.
- Experience in providing classroom training in quality and process improvement processes and concepts.
- Able to travel with minimal notice if needed.
KEY JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to develop long-term strategies, evaluate progress and provide direction.
- Strong motivation and team building skills.
- Thorough understanding of quality systems and quality certification processes (new quality techniques and technology).
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes (assembly, casting, molding)
- Thorough understanding of statistics
- Strong skill set in capacity planning, lean manufacturing, and six sigma philosophy.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Strong knowledge of the automotive industry and its customers.
