Essential Job Functions

  • Expose students to science and manufacturing career paths
  • Build early STEM talent pipelines
  • Provide hands-on learning in quality systems, testing, and problem-solving
  • Quality Shadowing
  • Basic lab testing (under supervision)
  • Learn basics of Verification and Validation
  • Statistical Process Control - weight data collection and entry
  • Receiving and In-Process testing (pH, Moisture, Bulk Density, Water activity)
  • QC Bakeoffs (Mixing and preparing, testing finished products)
  • Quality checks in other departments
  • Participates in Team environment offering input and suggestions to improve the overall performance of the department and company.
  • Strives to maintain goals and objectives as developed by the company or manager.

Important Other Skills/Abilities

  • Strong Communication skills, written & verbal.
  • HS Juniors/ Seniors
  • Works well in a team environment or independently.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office knowledge.
  • Self-motivated; works well with minimal supervision.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

Physical Demand Characteristics:

  • Light – Lifts 10 lbs. or less frequently.
  • Lifts 25 lbs. occasionally. 
  • Walks and/or stands most of the day. 
  • Bends and stoops frequently. 
  • Reaches overhead and stoops frequently.
  • May push/pull.
  • Ability to comply with safety requirements (PPE, plant polices)
