Tessera is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector II to join our manufacturing team in Auburn, Washington. The Quality Inspector II is a senior-level inspector and technical leader within the Quality Department. The role independently performs complex inspections, exercises authority in product acceptance decisions, mentors junior inspectors, and plays a key role in maintaining and improving the AS9100 Quality Management System. The Level II Inspector serves as a quality leader on the floor and a primary liaison between Quality, Production, Engineering, and Management.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Independently perform and approve first article (AS9102), in-process, and final inspections.
Inspect complex aerospace components with tight tolerances and advanced GD&T requirements.
Review and validate special process certifications (plating, anodize, heat treat, NDT, coatings).
Operate and/or program CMM equipment (as applicable).
Serve as escalation point for complex blueprint interpretation or tolerance disputes.
Provide daily guidance and mentoring to Level I Inspectors.
Review inspection work for completeness and accuracy.
Assist in training production personnel on quality standards and requirements.
Help prioritize inspection workload to support production flow.
Promote accountability and a culture of quality throughout the shop.
Ensure inspection processes comply with AS9100 requirements and customer flow-downs.
Initiate and review nonconformance reports (NCRs).
Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Participate in internal audits and external customer or registrar audits.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process standardization.
Partner with Engineering during new product introduction (NPI).
Provide feedback to Manufacturing on repeat defects or process risks.
Support supplier quality verification activities as needed.
Authorized to accept or reject product within defined quality authority.
Technical decision-maker for inspection-related disputes.
Informal leadership responsibility over Level I inspectors.
Influences departmental processes and quality strategy.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required. Technical Training is preferred.
5+ years of previous Aerospace or Precision Manufacturing Inspection experience is required. Prior CMM programming experience is preferred.
Must have strong proficiency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
Previous experience within an AS9100 quality system is required.
Previous internal auditor training (AS9100), experience supporting customer audits, and experience with ERP/MES quality modules is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to make independent acceptance/rejection decisions.
Must have strong communication and leadership skills.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
