Quality Improvement Specialist

Supports projects throughout the organization including both clinical and non-clinical areas to accomplish measurable quality improvement. Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing processes and helps to develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable clinical quality improvement. Collects and analyzes process and quality data to initiate, develop, and recommend operational practices and procedures that focus on enhanced quality outcomes.

Essential Functions

  • Support and drive pediatric quality improvement initiatives aligned with organizational priorities, including project management, defined deliverables, milestones, and data‑informed strategies.

  • Partner with clinical, operational, and community stakeholders across the Corewell Health System, serving as a liaison and change agent to ensure effective collaboration, coordination, and use of resources.

  • Apply improvement science methodologies to continuously assess performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support stakeholders and process owners in prioritizing and implementing sustainable changes.

  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate benchmarked quality data and performance trends to identify gaps, monitor progress, and improve pediatric outcomes.

  • Contribute quality improvement expertise to regulatory, accreditation, and publicly reported programs, supporting compliance with accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission (TJC).

  • Support strategic quality goal setting and alignment of improvement work with organizational priorities and pediatric best practices.

  • Facilitate the ongoing development of quality improvement knowledge and capability across the organization through consultation, collaboration, and education.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent in Healthcare related field

  • 2 years of relevant experience in Quality improvement, performance improvement, project management or similar role

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Healthcare related field

  • 1 year of relevant experience with participation on improvement initiatives

  • ​CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), IHI Open School

  • CRT-Professional in Healthcare Quality, Certified (CPHQ) - NAHQ National Association for Healthcare Quality
