Your Role

The role of the Quality Engineering Technician reports to the Quality Manager. The role will be focused on maintaining the metrology equipment that supports product analysis in the Quality lab and Manufacturing. This role is also responsible for maintaining and improving the RMA tracking system and performing first-level failure analysis.

Your Responsibilities

  • Document, track and maintain calibration on all measurement equipment using the QMS
  • Create working documents for use of the equipment and train the quality team
  • Verify, maintain, and use Golden Samples to validate Quality and Manufacturing equipment
  • Lead the RMA and Failure Analysis process by performing analysis of returned or in-process products and reporting findings
  • Conduct root cause analysis or escalate RCA to bring closure to quality issues that are identified on the manufacturing line or from customer returns.
  • Support product/process qualifications including trials, testing and reporting activities.
  • Publish reports based on failure analysis that shall be used improve product quality in collaboration with Manufacturing and Engineering
  • Participate in various special projects that support the quality, manufacturing and engineering teams.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Education in Quality, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on abilities using tools for assembly or dis-assembly
  • 5+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience using Quality Management System software for tracking and maintaining equipment and calibration status
  • Experience using metrology equipment from basic hand tools to CMM
  • Experience authoring procedures that support training Quality & MFG teams
  • Experience working with database systems to extract, format, analyze and then report out conclusions/recommendations

Hourly Range: $30 - $32

This is a non-exempt position that requires routine lifting of up to 35 lbs. Occasional overtime may be required.

*Base salary only. Salary is dependent on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience and location.
