Collins Aerospace is looking to hire Quality Engineering Specialist who will be reporting to the Manager, Quality Engineering. As the Quality Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for managing & implementing quality requirements; Be the primary customer quality interface at the Oakville site for all Oakville non-conforming product management, customer escapes, audits and corrective actions; ensuring that all products shipped meet all Customer dimensional, material and systems specifications or documented deviations to those specifications.

This position is working on-site at Oakville facility, ON - Canada

What You Will Do

  • Coordination with Program Quality to flow down Customer Quality requirements to the Oakville production processes and ensuring compliance to those requirements.
  • Planning and execution of all Quality Assurance activities to ensure that parts produced at the Oakville site comply to all Aerospace regulatory, QMS and Engineering requirements
  • Oversee and be accountable for Inspection Planning in coordination with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Control
  • Oversee and be accountable for the timely planning and completion of FAIs in coordination with Production Planning and Quality Control.
  • Approve techniques / manufacturing plans and sending to Program Quality for submitting to customers for approval
  • Oversee and be accountable for accuracy and completeness of Build Records and Delivery Documentation to customers
  • Identifying Inspection, FAI or MRB related production flow constraints and actively working to resolve them in coordination with Quality Control, Engineering and Program Quality
  • Participate actively in PPAP (Product Part Approval Process).
  • Facilitate Process Certification events, Manufacturing Process Reviews and follow up on open actions
  • Work with Manufacturing engineering group to maintain PFMEA and Control Plans
  • Organize and lead Gauge R&R evaluations
  • Implement and maintain SPC system and report Cpk data on all KC’s
  • Coordinate containment, sort/rework actions for external and internal issues
  • Participates and coordinates problem solving for Quality Clinic and manufacturing concerns (customer specific reports: 8D, 7 step, 5 phase, Is/Is Not, etc)
  • Ensure enforcement and compliance of Customer Specific Requirements,
  • Initiate and/or participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Manufacturing industry
  • Experience in interpreting engineering drawings and math data including geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Experience in ERP and PLM
  • Experience in Modeling (2D / 3D) software.
  • Successful candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

Qualifications We Prefer

  • University degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering)
  • Experience in Aerospace or Automotive industries
  • ASQ "Certified Quality Engineer" certification an asset.
  • Strong technical background in CNC machining and NADCAP special processes
  • Proficient with RED "X" or similar root causing tools, SPC, Six Sigma techniques, Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA and DOE.
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities
  • Knowledge of SAP and Catia
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment
