The Quality Engineer, Product QA (Welding discipline) will be responsible for:
Support product engineering on welding requirements identification, review and implementation.
To develop project welding matrix aligned with Material’s Engineering Team.
To qualify product welding processes in-house and review supplier’s qualification processes.
Record properly the welding qualifications on PQRs and WPS.
Review and approve local work instructions for welding.
Implement and control welding consumables best practices and requirements, including the required approvals per relevant industry codes.
Oversight welding operations in-house and in suppliers as per ABNT NBR 14842 duties.
Witness laboratory tests for welding and welder qualifications and report out.
To control welder qualification record and its performance according to relevant standards.
Deploy continuous improvement actions on welding operations based on product performance.
Support Project Quality team for welding discipline across the live projects.
Interface with customer SME in welding during project execution.
Ensure critical observations e concerns are properly identified and escalated to the respective levels of the organization.
Run product quality audits and walks in a frequent basis to certify project requirements are flowed down.
Support lead Go No Go process for fabrication start and facilitate pre-production meeting.
Ensure welding Lessons Learned are properly captured, solved and communicated to product delivery and supply team.
Ensure product non-conformances are properly identified, recorded by the relevant point of contact responsible for fabrication.
Witness product inspections and processes/product qualification inspections as per the relevant inspection and test plan, and report-out.
Review and approve the supplier quality welding records.
Handle communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems
Adhere to Product Line directive for standard quality requirements in fabrication sites.
Contribute in the root cause analises of welding non-conformances/problems
Support the Quality in team in NDE inspections applicability / improvements in-house or in suppliers
Review and approve weld maps.
Required Characteristics
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in (Mechanical, Welding, Materials or Production discipline).
Fluent in English.
Knowledge in local Brazilian customer quality requirements related to fabrication of subsea equipment including XT, Manifolds and Tooling.
Strong and proven experience on welding discipline for subsea equipment.
Experience in Quality audits to support customer project assessments.
Knowledge in product quality inspection and documentation analysis.
Experience with customer interface.
Knowledge of NDE inspections (MP, DP, UT, PAUT, etc)
Knowledge of usual materials used in the Oil&Gas industry
Welding Inspector Qualification (FBTS Level 2)
Knowledge of usual materials used in the Oil&Gas industry
